The brain behind 121Advisor: Kevin Steer
Kevin Steer, a graduate from Cambridge University, 1978, started his professional journey with Schlumberger, a technology company in Brunei, Australia, Indonesia, China for half a decade. In 1986, he obtained his Masters in Computing from Imperial College where he focused on Artificial Intelligence.
Further, Kevin moved to Malaysia in order to implement solutions on Insurance & Banking catering to a large clientele from China, India, Thailand & Indonesia.
Kevin Steer is the role model, who motivates his team. As a ‘techie’, he designs data models and comes up with solutions to implement. Kevin’s positive spirit comes from his love for sports. In the early 80’s, he walked up to Mount Everest base camp, which was 17,000 ft. high. His other expedition was 13,000 ft. high in Tibet, China and continued to explore until he reached Kathmandu, Nepal where he ended his travel with white water rafting.
As a CEO & ‘techie’, Kevin has always been looking for new disruptive solutions to continue evolving the business. What was interesting was that he worked for an Artificial Intelligence
Company in 1986, and that piqued his interest in AI. When 121Advisor started seeing the evolution of Chabot’s, Robo Advisors, Predictive Analytics, and Behavioral Intelligence & Robotic Process Automation. 121Advisor started researching on AI solutions and the team and implemented 24×7 multi-lingual Chabot’s, Robo Advisors for lifestyle financial planning, as well as implementing Predictive Analytics solutions for predicting new products to buy, lapsation of policies, fraudulent claims & future growth/decline of investment funds; which are integrated with RPA solutions to trigger workflows to notify the relevant people.
