Q. Give a detailed description of the Founder/CEO/Management’s contribution to the company and the industry.?
Rupali and Satish Naik are the founders of A Design Studio, an organization dedicated to providing clients with comfortable, aesthetic customizable interior design solutions. The organization and the team have been around for about 14 years now and we have completed tons of projects ranging from residential to offices and even retail spaces. The founders started as newcomers in the industry and have gone on to create a niche for themselves among some of the best players in the industry. With a great number of interior design and architecture awards in their kitty already, Satish, Rupali and their team have a long way to go in the service of their clients. The founders have made it a point to add their personal touch to every project they take up, which is the best selling point of the organization on the whole. The biggest achievement that you can have in the journey of architecture and interior design is that you get to work on a wide plethora of projects. A Design Studio has been fortunate enough to serve people right from homeowners to those that are starting out with a new office to commercial property owners. We have been able to ensure that design dreams are made to come true with the help of our expertise in the field. In terms of achievements, there have been numerous awards that we have been able to win across the country. However, the true honor in winning the awards is that we get to compete with the other big names in the industry. Apart from the awards, A Design Studio has also been featured in highly popular magazines and newspapers which helps us become a household name.
Q. Please share the most memorable and remarkable moment of your life.
While as a team we at A Design Studio have experienced a lot of proud and memorable moments together, our all-time favorite and the most cherished moment is when the organization was established. About 14 years back, we were venturing into completely new territory, this time as owners and founders of the business rather than just designers. Even now when we think back to the beginning months of A Design Studio, it gives us goosebumps while also giving us a feeling of immense pride and happiness at how much we were able to achieve. We have been able to not only grow the design family in leaps and bounds but also added a huge set of clients to our list of loyal customers. Being able to see the happy faces of clients at the end of the projects is what helps us register it as our most memorable moment.
Q. Where do you see yourself and the company in the future? Or, what is your goal to mark the uniqueness in the future?
We are constantly striving toward making ourselves better in the journey of design and architecture, not just to make personal achievements but to mainly offer the best to the clients, old as well as new. Our aim is to be able to ensure that we as a team remain abreast and updated in our field. That we do not lag behind in terms of trends and technological advances in the field of interior design. Most essentially we want to be able to offer the most sustainable design solutions to our clients so that we are able to contribute and give back to the nature through our work. If we are able to create any kind of environmental awareness among the people that we work for, it will be our most genuine and valuable achievement. That is also what will help us set ourselves apart from the rest of the players in the world of design and architecture.
Q. Advice for the entrepreneur who is trying to embark in the same field.
We would like to tell the future players of the fields of architecture and design that it is best to be true to your art and give your best. While the clients have their own preferences and choices when it comes to aesthetics, they are always open to ideas that seem extremely unique. Never shy away from what you think will work, if you think it is technically and practically viable. The world is waiting for ideas in design to be unleashed, don’t be among those that are still waiting, come up and be among those that make a difference. Our experience tells us that a true designer is not one that conforms to standards but one that creates their own standards for the others to match. It is also important for the up and coming generation design business owners and managers to be true to their clients. The clients are the ones that help you establish yourself in this arena, which is why you need to be transparent and honest with them all through your interaction. Only when you are trustworthy will you be able to earn repeat or new business.
Q. What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational tool? Or, who is your role model and how the person inspires and motivates you?
Our most important motivation is the possibility to experiment and come up with ideas. We get equally inspired by the trust and the faith that our clients have in us. When our clients give us a free hand in the process of design, we are able to give them back design suggestions and solutions that surpass all boundaries. Since, design can never be wrong or right, we are always experimenting with ideas and that is what helps us keep going. Our work never feels boring or monotonous because we try to come up with a unique signature touch for all of our projects be it residential, offices or commercial projects.
All through our journey of design and creativity, we have looked up to stalwarts in the arena of design like Zaha Hadid. She is a woman architect that we find immensely inspirational mainly because of how progressive she was in her thoughts and ideas. Each project that is done by her seems like it is way ahead of her times and is truly everlasting. Design should be timeless in its look as well as function is what we have learnt from the ideology of the unsurpassable architect that Zaha Hadid was.
