After vulnerability detection, the most critical management tasks to protect an organisation are: threat confirmation, severity prioritisation, vulnerability repair, obtaining the company’s threat score, and a method to track weekly progress. The majority of businesses rely on automated third-party generic scanners, which restrict their judgments. All of these elements are present in Forenzy Networks’ VMP – a traditional hybrid method to make infrastructure fully resistant to advanced cyber threats. With two in-house flagship products, the firm is breaking down such barriers and delivering hybrid state-of-the-art cyber security products that set it apart from the competition. Forenzy built VMP to be capable of continual scanning, finding, alerting, monitoring, prioritisation, and compliance reporting to round out its hybrid security strategy.
Forenzy Networks began its journey in early 2019 with a basic offering of six cyber security services. Using its skills and experience, the firm was able to successfully enroll CMM L5 clients by the end of 2019. The team recognised that a fully managed cyber security solution was now a necessity of the day and devised a strategy to ensure hassle-free cyber security service delivery and internal technological expansions. With this mindset in mind, Forenzy Networks’ Cyber Security service offering grew from 6 to 27 unique services in 2 years.
There are a few cyber security businesses that have their own flagship products. In a relatively short period of time, Forenzy had two flagship cyber security products capable of detecting and countering the most sophisticated cyber threats. Its Services and Product offerings are mostly trusted by businesses and government agencies. An integrated management service that included Cyber Security & Digital Forensics Services, proprietary products, and a Virtual CISO assisted the firm in effectively offering cutting-edge Cyber Security solutions. The company was successful in establishing a global footprint by expanding its product/service delivery to the United States, Canada, and Brazil, as well as local market business growth.
The CEO
Bhaumik Merchant is the CEO and Co-Founder of Forenzy Networks. Bhaumik has over 12 years of expertise in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. He began his career in cyber security when he was 19 years old, working with law enforcement agencies and assisting in the investigation of complicated cyber crime cases. He discovered a number of national-level data breaches and assisted businesses in minimising vulnerabilities in order to prevent cyber attacks. He has been a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, presenting his cyber security whitepapers and threat research work. He is an active contributor to a number of open source cybersecurity frameworks and technologies.
Bhaumik holds a unique position at Forenzy, leading Cyber Research and managing multiple internal orchestrations to produce cutting-edge Cyber Security products and services. Aside from that, he is the founder of CyberNGO, a non-profit organisation dedicated to assisting cybercrime victims and spreading cyber awareness.
‘A’ Grade Cyber Security Services
Forenzy offers a strong approach to defending a company from a hacker’s point of view with its cyber security services and products delivered via its ‘One Touch Platform’ for protecting cloud and on-premise infrastructure. It has evolved its products, processes, and services in such a way that even a non-tech C-Suite executive can quickly gain an understanding of their infrastructure’s threat landscape and remedy vulnerabilities using the One-Click option. The company states, “The idea is to provide one platform to request, remediate, and respond with a single click. We call it a ‘One-stop Shop for Cyber Security Products and Services’.”
In addition to Forenzy’s 26+ unique cyber security services, which include Vulnerability Assessment and Pen-testing, offering niche services such as virtual CISO, Cyber Advisors, Digital Forensics, and Secure Network Designing (Zero Trust Architecture Designing & Deployment) allows its customers to trust it in securing their organisation.
Forenzy’s two core products, Vulnerability Management Program (VMP) and Secure Uptime Cloud (SUC), provide a holistic strategy that enterprises require. By providing exceptional all-in-one service offerings and products, the company has consistently expanded its business through customer referrals and achieved a position on its customers’ quick ‘go-to’ list.
According to Bhaumik, Forenzy does not ‘sell’ what it has in-house; rather, the team spends a significant amount of time understanding customer requirements by studying their infrastructure, technology, and past breaches (if any) to identify the best-in-class services and products that perfectly fit into the framework that assists the organisation in combating cyber-attacks and developing visibility of attacks. He says, “We are enlightening people’s mindsets over quarterly vulnerability audits. But to tighten cyber security and reduce the attack surface, quarterly audits are not sufficient. If we speak about 2020, then the daily average count of ZERO-Day vulnerabilities released is 50.3, which is nearly 4,627 per quarter, where most organisations customarily opt for a single audit, providing a huge blackout window for an attacker to attack. We secure these gaps and loopholes using our hybrid service plus product offerings.“
Leading the Sector
Bhaumik recalls, “I remember an incident where we were participating in an RFP as an 8-month-old cyber security start-up. There were eight domestic and international companies participating in the same RFP where we were all given a hacking challenge to comply with and appear for the next round along with the ordinary tech-form submissions.” The team members at Forenzy utilised their years of experience and expertise to nail down the challenge and deliver excellence in the results. The moment the results were out, Bhaumik saw Forenzy’s name at the top of the list with a 1st rank with 98% Vulnerability coverage, defeating all the established companies in the market participating in the RFP. He shares, “This doubled the excitement of the whole team and management since, for us, it was our passion that turned into an enterprise on board.”
Advice for Tech Entrepreneurs
“Entrepreneurship is a journey of adventure, and when I said “adventure,” sometimes it drags you down too with some of the things,” says Bhaumik. In his opinion, spirituality plays a significant role in building a rock-solid mental health foundation that helps in combating tough situations. He always considered Vivekananda his ideologist and inspiration. “Reading his ideas about life and living inspires a lot, which helped in unravelling many knots,” says Bhaumik.
As a skilled cyberspace leader, Bhaumik sees entrepreneurship as an ongoing adventure in the cyber security space, where we face new problems every day due to evolving technology and weaknesses. It also has unanticipated shocks along the way, particularly with regard to industrial demand and the corresponding changes in supply over time. One of the primary causes of entrepreneur failure, according to Bhaumik, is that they do not understand market needs and trends and instead shape-up something that they enjoy accomplishing or manufacturing. To operate a successful firm, it is vital to work or manufacture something of our interest, but it must also be linked with industrial requirements.
Bhaumik states, “If one takes care of this part, the rest is set to raise the bars. Your success trajectory is defined by how stable your mind is and how maturely you react. The initial few years are the “Years of Exam” for every entrepreneur, because the moment one is jumping into this, one should be ready to deal with the social and monetization consequences for some time. One must learn the art of being calm to deal with anomalies. Sometimes the environment may not support you in many ways, but keeping a holistic belief and being purely devoted will make one win.”
Customizable Services in the Future
Bhaumik would like to become more involved in Cyber Security Innovation in order to improve established ways. With technology improvements resulting in an average of 50 ZERO-Days revealed every day, quarterly Cloud/On-premise audits will never be adequate to provide comprehensive Cyber Protection. The majority of cyber security product and service solutions are centred on the vulnerability discovery process, which is merely the first stage in an organization’s journey toward cyber security (vulnerability discovery seems to be the very first step). Forenzy Networks is attempting to reshape established ideas by illuminating people’s minds through Pay-as-you-Go Cyber Security Product and Service Offerings.
