CEO Minnie Bodhanwala got the opportunity to work with Wadia Hospitals in November 2012. During the time, the hospital was itself facing a major crisis. However, the situation was unable to shake Minnie. Turning the other cheek, she took it as a challenge and commenced streamlining the transformation of both the Hospitals.
Besides the operational challenges, she had another hurdles that demanded a strong solution. This included the hospitals being heritage structures as well as its stability and expansion of services.
Her mission was to get the Children’s Hospital function, which endured structural damages in 2007-08 and enhance the quality of patient care. However, most importantly, she had to ensure safety for all the patients.
Without holding back, Minnie proudly achieved the same and has brought up a functional pediatric hospital with 450 Beds.
As the torchbearer of hospitals, her primary responsibilities remain on strategizing and achieving the objectives. She also strives towards the vision and mission of the organizations, dedicating a lot of time for positive change management and team-building across all the departments.
On a personal level, Minnie describes herself as an individual who is striving for impact and focused on results. She is all about hard, long sustained, meaningful, and impactful work in the field of women empowerment. She is a strong supporter and promoter of women empowerment and draw inspiration from all the women she works with.

Quick Glance at the Hospitals
Wadia Hospitals co-joins the two super-specialty public hospitals, Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children (525 beds) and Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity hospital (400 beds). The hospitals have an annual intake of over four lakh patients on an outpatient basis and more than 30,000 inpatients per year. Carrying more than nine decades of legacy, both hospitals have been serving the underprivileged section of society.
The Children’s Hospital is the country’s first and the largest dedicated Pediatric Hospital. Today, under one roof, it delivers more than 30 super-specialty services, medical, including excellence centers in cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, amongst others.
With a proud feeling, it hosts the world’s largest and 155-bedded NICU in Asia. In Maharashtra, it has a Nodal Centre, and will soon begin with its own Cath Lab, MRI center and a Bone Marrow Transplant unit. It also hopes to set up advanced cancer and organ transplant center.
The Maternity Hospital provides women across parts of society with quality obstetrical and gynecological facilities. The hospital is also very subsidized for offering IVF care and has a human milk bank to support children who are not lucky enough to obtain it. The maternity hospital will undergo a great transition soon, culminating with a nine decade-old system of structural stability.
