Q. Please share the most memorable and remarkable moment of your life.
There have been many eureka moments in our journey of 45 years. We have grown on a strong foundation in baby steps with zero leverage. only our own capital and in a conservative manner. However, we believe the best is yet to come. Our memories are always that we survived despite all odds. It’s been a long journey and we have seen lots of companies come and go, some very large ones, some with deep ambition and pockets. We are like the blue sky in the industry that experiences passing clouds.
Q. Where do you see yourself and the company in the future? Or, what is your goal to mark its uniqueness in the future?
Currently, our business is very India focused. The strategy has worked as we see the need for infrastructure to only get bigger and stronger with time. However, our model can work globally. So we intend to start operations in promising locations with high infrastructure budgets. We are in talks with several Middle East countries to open joint ventures. Also, since we have global manufacturing, the synergy could work.
Q. What is your advice for the entrepreneur who is trying to embark on the same field?
My advice to entrepreneurs is that nothing succeeds like honesty and hard work. We had many quality options in our careers. We chose the hard path. left an unethical, low-quality business. We only stand for zero compromise on ethics, honesty, quality and delivery. That’s what paid off. Also, develop a team to last. Focus on low attrition. Incentivise your employees, as they are key. A point to note during COVID: when the whole industry was firing, we maintained each member of stAff and, on the contrary, recruiters. This is what will create loyalty and a desire to grow with the company. We are in a people business. Hence, how you treat your people will reflect on customer experiences.
Q. What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational tool? Or, who is your role model, and how does that person inspire and motivate you?
Our business it fire protection starts at the foundation of a project and ends at the top off of a project. During the life cycle we see dreams turning to vison and then to reality. To imagine some dreams seems impossible. To see it being realty is enough to be motivated for the next course of action. My inspiration has always been Steve jobs as he changed the face of human existence and behaviour. His thoughts and deliveries has no immitation. He’s a true entrepreneur.
