The global healthcare sector needs a disruption as humanity struggles to overcome this pandemic of chronic & life threatening diseases. Time has come to find out what is making people sick. We need to actually decode the root cause of chronic diseases & wipe them from our life dictionary by leveraging multiple & massive biological data sets to deeply understand an individual’s biology. We can do this by using these data sets to predict the risk of chronic diseases & convert them into insightful & actionable personalized nutrition recommendations using powerful artificial intelligence mechanism to envision a disease free life.
Q. Kindly share your opinion on the Pharma & BioTechindustry.
We do not consider Pharma & Bio-tech as one group. Pharma sector has a wrong business model- they make money when people are sick. For them it is subscription model. For example, You have diabetes & bang you are a lifetime subscriber. They never work on decoding the root cause, rather focus on managing & suppressing your symptoms. For instance, if you have auto immune disease say, celiac disease, they will suppress your immune system- they will never say let’s find out what is making you sick. Once they suppress your immune system, you will catch hold of other diseases & then you will consume drugs for that & this goes on & on.
There is need to leverage research & recent discoveries in biotechnology sector to build precision nutrition & evidence based medicine /vaccine solutions that can actually prevent occurrence of diseases & even reverse them. We need more companies working on biotech led preventive healthcare models that leverages human biology science to make this world truly disease free.
Q. Kindly brief us about the most satisfactory experience with a client. What kind of game changing services have you provided to them?
One of our client was suffering from frequent bloating & diarrhea & he was not able to figure out what is happening. When he visited his doctor- he was told to eat healthy foods. He started having lot of spinach, however his GI did not seem to go away. When he signed up for our service & we sequenced his gut micro-biome , we could figure out that his gut had a lot of sulphate reducing bacteria which was making his gut release hydrogen sulphide & causing bloating & frequent bowel movements & as a result he was losing lot of weight & feeling fatigued. We could analyze that his diet included lot of high sulphur foods such as broccoli, dried fruits & frozen meat. Based on his gut micro biome insights, we recommended him dietary recommendations unique for his gut which did not include high sulphur foods in his diet & helped him overcome issues of chronic diarrhea & IBS.
