Following is an Interview between The Business Fame Magazine and Tuuli Pärenson, shares her journey and contribution through Gofore Estonia.
Q. Brief us about the CEO/Founder of the company.
Tuuli Pärenson is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gofore Estonia. She is currently leading the subsidiary located in Estonia, but on a daily basis, her team works as the same crew with the Gofore group. As the CEO of Gofore Estonia, Tuuli is responsible for international business development that aims at building an ethical digital world.
Tuuli holds a Ph.D. in Economics with an interest in sustainable business and social enterprises. She has a history with several digital transformation journeys and has taken part in many large-scale changes in both the public and private sectors. For example, Tuuli has supported several countries in the implementation of secure data exchange solutions to increase the transparency of digital societies. She has also helped to implement governance practices that aid in turning cooperation into collaboration. May it be a design of joint development of e-governance core components of e-state or a bizdevops implementation in the private sector, Tuuli takes challenges head-on and brings a shift.
I believe that the core of leadership is the ability to build bridges and trust between a wide set of stakeholders. Agile practices are great tools for doing it. We practice what we preach and run the company by agile principles as well. By giving more freedom to the teams (and not only development teams in IT), leaders unleash not only creativity but also responsibility. Only together, we can turn challenges into opportunities.
At Gofore, the team really does not believe in titles. We are a value-driven company and we work as one crew and for the same goals. We are an agile consultancy company and that means that our success lies with our customers’ success. Our customers have told that our culture is unique. And the thing with culture is, that this is something you have to feel and experience. Our customers have said that they value the most that we think together with them and are proactive as well as daring to speak out what paths not to take. We are there for our customers long-term success.
The company’s customers succeed if Gofore’s experts do their work with their heart and not only with their brains. At the end of the day, technology alone can’t change anything. Without people, it’s all just hardware and code. New and emerging technologies are the tools that Gofore can use to make the world better. All our experts are constantly eager to learn and improve. This is what keeps us going and at the same time supports our customers. Digital is part of our daily everyday lives. That is why working methods are spreading from IT-teams to all kind of working teams, for example agile (scrum) practices and self-organizing team settings. We believe that the next main changes would be related to scaling agile and self-organizing networks to organizations, societies, and cross-border settings.
Q. Please share the most memorable and remarkable moment of your life.
The most memorable and remarkable moments of life are not work related 😊 – humans always come first, starting with myself and my family. Like being born, graduating, getting married, having kids, etc. In work life the remarkable moments are where the “plan comes together”, team synergy is amazing and the team achieves more than was expected.
Q. Advise for the budding women in tech who are trying to embark in the same field.
The tech world is ready for you! Tech is the leading industry, where women and men are considered equal. We need more women in tech! If we look at tech industry, then only about 25% of it is women. Let’s make it 50%!
Q. What is the one thing that is acting as your motivational tool? Or, who is your role model and how the person inspires and motivates you?
There is no better place to be than with Gofore! We encourage all our staff to be the culture they want to be surrounded by. And we can feel it in practice every day. This is a great crew to be surrounded by, great customers, and great challenges ahead to be faced and achieved.
