Healthcare technology refers to any IT tools or software meant to increase hospital, clinic, patient and other healthcare entities or individual’s overall productivity, bring new insights into medicines and treatments, or improve the overall quality of care provided. The healthcare sector today is a $2 trillion monster at a fork in the road. The sector is seeking methods to improve in practically every imaginable area, as it is now weighted down by crushing costs and red tape. This is where healthtech enters the picture. To address two major issues in healthcare: quality and efficiency, tech-infused solutions are being integrated into every step of the process. WONDRx (pronounced Wonder Rx) a Mumbai, Maharashtra-based healthcare company, was created with the goal of bringing India’s and other developing economies’ fragmented healthcare ecosystems together.
WONDRx has an integrated blend of products, being the WONDRx Kit for Doctors, the Healthcare Providers App, and the Patient App. WONDRx is a futuristic and smart solution that also helps to digitise the services of other healthcare partners, thereby successfully creating a world of connected healthcare.

Over two decades of combined work experience in the healthcare industry has taught the duo the complexities of the industry as well as some unfilled holes that, if filled, may have a huge positive impact on health economics, research, and treatment outcomes.
Multiple Exclusive Services
WONDRx is helping doctors, healthcare providers, and patients solve real-world challenges. It offers an integrated platform that allows doctors, other healthcare professionals, and patients to transact and integrate throughout the patient journey for more convenience and quicker care. According to Mr. Sindhu, every other tech start-up is focused on forcing doctors to type prescriptions (Rx), and despite the fact that there are so many participants in typing-based clinic automation solutions, adoption of such tech solutions is minimal. He explains how WONDRx solves this by providing SMART Rx paper, a digital pen, and the WONDRx Dr App – the doctor continues to handwrite the Rx while it is instantly digitised, and a digital record is kept at the doctor’s end on the WONDRx Dr App, plus the digital Rx copy is relayed to the patient via SMS/WhatsApp along with educational videos and voice instructions from the doctor to improve medication adherence. Patients can download the WONDRx Consumer App to gain access to a variety of other features, such as emergency assistance, visibility of nearby healthcare professionals, doctor’s voice instructions, and remote video consults with known doctors. The patient has both the Rx paper and a digital copy of the handwritten Rx that is available to him or her for the rest of his or her life.
Healthcare providers, on the other hand, can use the WONDRx Provider App to establish a digital presence and service patients digitally during lockdowns. Future research will be augmented by WONDRx AI-enabled solutions, which will generate economic efficiencies across the healthcare eco-system.
Accomplishments that Show Commitment
Since its conception and launch (July 2019), WONDRx has been in the media for its simplicity and creativity. It has won a slew of awards and has been named to the Top Health Tech Start-ups to Watch list practically every year for the past three years. Skotch Award, CIO Top 10 Start-ups to Watch, Global Hues Startup of the Year 2021, National Health Authority Startup Carnival 2019, ICAI Dubai chapter recognition, Telemedicine Academy ICHA, CEO Insights top 10 mHealth firms to Watch, and many others are just a few to highlight.
The company was recently recognised by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for offering a customised WONDRx e consultation platform in collaboration with DORI Doctors. During the COVID pandemic, this was intended for patients from the state who needed to consult with international doctors.
Mr. Sindhu also adds that the team at WONDRx had so many memorable moments in their lives and the motto was to give importance to every single win and keep enjoying the journey. He asserts,
“We were especially elated to receive appreciation from the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for our efforts in serving the community during the pandemic time.”
Inspire to Bring Change
The simple attributes for growth are: ensuring a highway with adequate funding for scaling up, building rock-solid and committed teams, commercialising the product with the right product mix and optimum pricing, forming alliances, and constantly improving the product roadmap from the perspectives of quality performance and high usability features. Mr. Sindhu claims that the team is motivated by the company’s goal to fix an issue. He says, “Our solution will change the way healthcare is seen by every stakeholder, whether it’s a doctor, other healthcare provider, or consumer.” He further adds, “We are inspired by our patients, doctors, and every healthcare provider who is contributing to the health economics of this country.”Mr. Sindhu advises that one should have scope for large scale and high social & positive impact for all the stakeholders involved.
Heading to Become a Leading Healthcare Solution Provider
Mr. Sindhu wants WONDRx Smart Kit to be available to all registered medical practitioners across the country, from the most metropolitan to the most rural. The team hopes to extend the power of digital healthcare to all small-to-large healthcare providers, from local pharmacies to the largest e-pharmacies, as well as all other service providers who receive requests from patients directly through the WONDRx application, by digitising handwritten medical records. Patients and consumers should see the company as a one-stop solution for all of their healthcare requirements.
In summary, we aspire for majority of doctors writing their prescriptions on WONDRx SMART Rx Paper, and patients who visit these doctors using WONDRx Consumer App to get digital health benefits, while majority of healthcare providers use the WONDRx Provider App to create a digital identity that will help them stay competitive and in touch with their customers during lockdowns.
